Finance & Revenue

Jesus Padilla

Jesus Padilla has served as Vice President of Finance for Steiner’s Western Hemisphere Land Based Spas division since July 2006. He is extensively involved in all financial aspects of the operations, including: financial modeling, budgets, forecasts, monthly financial analysis, spa software selection and maintenance, staff compensation structures, payroll, product offering, inventory, insurance and contract-related matters. Before joining Steiner, Jesus worked at Ernst & Young LLP as a Manager in the Transaction Advisory Group and as Senior Auditor for the Assurance Group where he participated and managed numerous buy-side and sell-side due diligence transactions and financial audits, exposing him to a wide array of business, accounting and tax issues in numerous industries and countries. Jesus is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Master of Accounting with a concentration in Accounting Information Systems from Florida International University.

Ketut Bagia

Ketut Bagia is Chief Accountant for Mandara Spa. His responsibilities involve the accuracy, analysis and preparation of financial management reporting and budgeting as well as the monitoring of accounting systems for Mandara Spa Indonesia (MSI) and Mandara Spa Asia Limited (MSAL). He also serves as a financial advisor to management. Ketut reviews and compiles the daily revenue of MSAL and reports to the corporate office. He also works alongside the Tax Division, preparing monthly tax reports. Ketut has more than 19 years’ experience in the hospitality industry with international chains such as Jayakarta Hotel, Melia Bali Hotel, and Amankila Resorts, and served as Financial Controller at Amanwana Resorts. Ketut obtained a Bachelor of Administration Niaga.

Ranjit Gill

Ranjit Gill has served as Director of Finance in the finance department since 2005 and manages the accounting, finance, legal, human resources, and administration of the regional offices. Prior joining Steiner, Ranjit worked as Regional Financial Controller of Metromedia Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for eight years. She obtained a Bachelor of Administration in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University, UK, qualifications from the ACCA (Chartered Association of Certified Accountants) in London, and a Masters of Business Administration in the US. Ranjit’s experience includes working in audit at the KPMG offices in Malaysia, the Netherlands, and South Korea.

Operation Management

Darryll Leiman

Darryll Leiman serves as Regional Vice President for Mandara Spa, Hawaii and Pacific. A veteran in spa operations, he has worked for some of the most prestigious land based and maritime spas, including his alma mater into the spa industry — the original Golden Door in Escondido, Calif. Darryll went on to helm the Golden Door Spa at Sea on Queen Elizabeth 2 and other Cunard liners. In 2003, he was selected by Canyon Ranch to open and manage Canyon Ranch SpaClub onboard Queen Mary 2. Darryll also established and operated Mandara Spa’s maritime division, setting up maritime spas for Silversea Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line. He gained international spa experience living and working for Spa’Deus, a traditional European-style spa in Tuscany, Italy. Darryll was the opening Spa Director at Spa Grande at Grand Wailea Resort on Maui, Hawaii. He has opened locations for Mandara Spa in Honolulu, Las Vegas and Guam.

Dr. Koustubha Dhumal

Dr. Koustubha joined Mandara Spa in Nov. 2010. He was having 12 years of experience in Spa & Wellness industry of India. Dr. Koustubha is responsible for operations of Mandara Spa in India region. Dr. Koustubha obtained his BAMS, DYA and PGDMA. A board certified Ayurvedic specialist with a keen passion for developing and nurturing spa units, Dr Koustubha started his career as Chief Consultant for Dabur India Ltd for it’s Ayurvedic Day Spa, Worked as Training Consultant for HLL for Ayush project, worked as Spa Director For Orient Spa Pvt. Ltd for their Orient Spa & Medispa chain under which he developed more than 15 Spas & Medi-spas in various cities of India.

Harish Kumar

Harish Kumar is Director of Operations for spas in Indonesia & Malaysia. He was previously Operations Manager, managing 8 spas across Malaysia, while working with management at all levels on both the spa and hotel side of the business, to drive revenues and ensure a high level of guest service. Harish joined Mandara Spa in 2008 and held the position of Spa Director at Club Med, Renaissance Hotel and Sunway Resort in Malaysia. He has more than 17 years’ experience in the spa industry, beginning his career with Oberoi Hotel, followed by Ananda in the Himalayas, Aman Resort and Radisson Hotel.

Susan Grey

Susan R. Grey has served as Regional Vice President of Spa Operations for Steiner Spas since January 2012. Susan is a senior operations and general management executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience, specializing in spa operations, including budgeting and P&L responsibilities. She has a proven track record in team building, recruitment, training and development, and staff retention. Additionally, Susan has excelled in menu and spa service development and creating customer service programs that achieve positive business results. She has worked for Bliss Spa in various capacities since July 2000. From June 2007 – January 2012, Susan served as Regional Director, Bliss Spa Operations-East. From January 2004 – June 2007, she served as Area Manager, NY Spas. From July 2000 until January 2004, Susan served as the Spa Director of the flagship Bliss Spa in Soho, NY.

Youlanda Deveaux

Youlanda Deveaux serves as Regional Vice President, Caribbean and Central America. She has been responsible for the operations of luxury land-based spas since 2001 and opened the spas at Atlantis, One and Only Ocean Club, and at Albany in the Bahamas. Youlanda also oversees operations in Aruba and Puerto Rico. A Human Resources and Industrial Relations specialist, she has a Master of Business Administration and graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern University and is certified in Employment Law and Practice from the University of the West Indies, Trade Union Institute.

Kay Lasic

Kay Lasic is Director of Spa Operations, Land Based Spas, for the Central Division, US. Operating as an ambassador for multiple Steiner spa brands for almost two decades, Kay began her career with Steiner in London. After eight years in the Maritime division, setting up and operating some of the most prestigious cruise ships for Celebrity Cruise lines, Kay then transitioned to Land Based Spa operations in 2001, taking the concept of Elemis’ Sensory Heaven to the division’s first land based US spa at the Aladdin Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. As Spa Director for two of the largest land based spas in the company — Paris and Planet Hollywood Spas by Mandara — her role has continued to grow, and she now oversees multiple spa brands. Kay has an outstanding track record in spa operations, guest service, revenue, education, brand standards, team building, and cost alignment.

Micheal Wilson

Micheal Wilson is Regional Director of Spa Operations, California. Prior to joining the Land Based Spas division, he was Spa Director for bliss spa at the W Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) for four years. Micheal began his career as a spa reservations specialist at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando in 2003. He was later selected as an opening team member for the new spa at Disney’s Saratoga Spring Resort & Spa where he was promoted to Spa Operations and Special Events Manager. During his time there, the spa received the coveted # 1 ranking in Conde’ Nast’s Annual Reader’s Poll: The Best Spas in the World.

Education, Training & H.R.

Alexandra Sutopo

Alexandra Sutopo serves as Training Manager for Mandara Spa Asia. She is responsible for maintaining, training, and creating exclusive and innovative treatment standards and protocols. Alexandra travels worldwide and teaches our therapists specialized techniques at different training centers, ensuring each protocol is adhered to in unison. She continuously works on improving current treatments while exploring new options for therapies. Alexandra has more than 15 years’ luxury hospitality experience at five-star establishments, working in food and beverage and ultimately spa. She is an active committee member of the Bali Spa and Wellness Association.

Courtney Sullivan

Courtney Sullivan joined Steiner in 2005 and serves as Sales Manager and Corporate Trainer. Her operational duties include menu and treatment development and support for new and existing spas. Courtney has earned degrees in Natural Health with a concentration in Paramedical Skin Care and Massage Therapy. She began her career as a make-up artist for Lancome Cosmetics in 2001 and has worked as a Paramedical Aesthetician at a plastic surgeon’s office where she developed customized anti-aging skin care programs for pre- and post-operative patients.

Kristyaningsih

Kristyaningsih serves as Human Resources Manager for Mandara Spa Asia since 2003. She is responsible for all recruitment and any legal processes required for staff to work outside of Indonesia or within the region. She also manages the manning rotation for all Mandara Spas. Kristyaningsih previously worked as Marketing Supervisor at a National Bank in Indonesia. She is also actively involved in the Overseas Workers Association.

Projects & Development

Chaja Kersten

As Managing Director, Chaja Kersten is responsible for Business Development across all regions. She manages the departments in Bali which support any new projects in Asia, Middle East and Eastern Europe. She joined Mandara Spa in 2008 after 13 years in operating and marketing hotels and hotel brands in France, Indonesia and Thailand.

Charlotte Tan

Charlotte Tan serves as Senior Project Manager and is responsible for new spa projects in Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Indian Ocean region. Her past hospitality industry experiences, already having managed more than 20 spa opening projects, has provided Charlotte with a foundation to productively work in coordination with the project team, including hotels, contractors and suppliers, to ensure seamless processes and communication lead to a successful spa launch.

Jessel Cantor

Jessel Cantor serves as Business Development Manager in the Maldives for the Mandara Spa, Chavana Spa and Elemis brands. She is responsible to develop, expand and generate new business opportunities and also overseeing marketing activities in the region. With more than 14 years of spa industry experience, Jessel has found the secret to her success is being engrained in day-to-day planning and development of a brand in order to see it grow. Her testament is the achievement of being named “Best Leading Spa Brand 2012” for Chavana Spa, which has become an inspiration and motivation to the spa team in sustaining quality brand and service standards.

Paula Watts

Paula Watts has served as Vice President of New Development for Steiner since 1996. With more than 30 years in the spa industry, Paula spearheads the development of new spas and renovations. She has been instrumental in assisting in design and implementation for more than 100 spa facilities on both land and sea. She has held a variety of positions with Steiner, including Director of Operations and Management Training. Her multi-faceted experience provides a unique and relevant perspective to spa design and development as well as focusing on new product and service initiatives. She has extensive consulting experience with many types of projects and a wide number of hotel partners.

Production & Distribution

Ken Riza

Ken Riza, Production and Distribution Manager, is responsible for the sourcing of products, quality control, and ensuring the timely delivery of the products to spas worldwide. She is also manages all import and export licensing and related matters. Ken has more than 10 years of experience in logistics. Her work experience includes working in an Oil Logistic Company in Singapore.

Nengah Sugitha

Nengah Sugitha, Assistant Production and Distribution Manager, is responsible for the execution purchase orders, production monitoring, and logistics compliance. He supervises all the forwarding companies. Nengah has more than 16 years of experience in export and import.

Wayan Sudani

Wayan Sudani specializes in collateral development and management. For six years, she has served as the gatekeeper to print and online brand standards, processing collateral for spas around the world while maintaining Mandara Spa’s Asia online presence.

Branding & Marketing

Kelly Stonehouse

Kelly Stonehouse, General Manager, is responsible for managing the departments which support operations in Asia, Middle East and Eastern Europe; including Product and Distribution, Human Resources and Training. Her background and wealth of experiences in Management and Sales and Marketing have led to her many successes in the real estate and hospitality industries.

Cristina Sorondo

Cristina Sorondo, Marketing Director for Land Based Spas, has worked with Steiner since 2010. She is responsible for overseeing promotions, e-marketing, advertising and public relations. Her 15 years of hospitality marketing and communications experience includes serving as Vice President of Taylor Marciano, a boutique public relations firm specializing in travel and tourism. Prior to that, she worked at M. Silver Associates, managing accounts such as AeroMexico, Coinstar Inc., Cunard, “I Have a Dream” Foundation, NH Hotels, Visa International LAC, Zero Gravity Corp., and secured coveted news and feature stories on “60 Minutes” (CBS), “Today” (NBC), “World News Tonight” and “Nightline” (ABC). Cristina is an expert in broadcast media and began her career working at NBC and FOX affiliates. She has won more than two-dozen public relations awards, including two HSMAI Platinum Awards.

Sarah Jacob

Sarah Jacob has worked with Steiner since 1995. As Director of Marketing, she oversees new spa concepts for maritime and new onboard marketing initiatives. Sarah also led the Mandara Spa brand re-launch and is part of the new development team for the US land-based spa division. As a witness of the dotcom boom, she initiated and focused upon developing the online presence of timetospa.com (1999-2005), steinerleisure.com and mandaraspa.com. Since 2005, Sarah has been the editor of the quarterly wellness and beauty publication, timetospa. Her articles have also appeared in various spa and trade publications including Porthole, Vis a Vis magazine. Sarah’s experience includes working in the training division of the Steiner Group in London. She also travelled the world as a Spa Manager on cruise ships. Sarah obtained a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy and literature in 1999 and her Master’s degree in liberal studies in 2012.
